  • The nation of Jhaamdath is born when human settlements north of the Chondalwood unit under the Dath Dynasty and its greatest psionic warrior, Jhaam Dath. Jhaamdath eventually meets Coramshan near the Lake of Steam, and the two empires struggle for centuries over control of this area. »

  • Jhaamdathan loggers come into conflict with the elves of the Chondalwood. Over the next twenty years, Jhaamdath forces hunt down and slaughter the elves. »

  • The deforestation of the Chondalwood by the local humans is in full swing. »

  • 143 DR [Year of the Smiling Princess]
  • Lumberjacks in the Chondalwood are halted by a large force of wild elves. »

  • Battle of Elven Tears
    An alliance of free cities of Chondath attacks the elves of the Chondalwoods. Ariel (an elven city), is burned to the ground, and more than 2,000 elves die in the war. The survivors reportedly flee deeper into the woods to the city of Rucien-Xan, a mythical elven home.

    Six months after the Battle of Elven Tears, Lord Anthony Illistine is named governor of Chandath, and the city-states are finally united under one leader. »

  • 260 DR [Year of Sunless Stones]
  • Chondath establishes the frontier towns of Timindar and Orbech near the ever-decreasing border of the Satyrwood. The Grand Druid of the Gulthmere issues several warnings to Chondath regarding the continued cutting of the Chondalwood, but is ignored. »

  • 267 DR [Year of Bane's Shadow]
  • The Crushed Helm Massacre
    Chondath sends a force inside the Chondalwood and are massacred. Of the 10,000 men who went into the woods, only about 200 survived and escaped the elves and wood giants.

    Lumberjacks abandon the Chondalwood and establish the city of Hlath near the Nunwood.

    Battle of Fallen Trees
    The Chondathian logging towns of Timindar and Orbech are destroyed by elves attacking from within the Chondalwood. »

  • 1112 DR [Year of the Perilous Storm]
  • Shalgreth of the Wings, who in his later years crafted wings for himself and sought (in vain) to found a race of winged folk by talking swanmays as consorts, gives the Crystrum of Tranquility (an artifact of Eldath) to the rangers' adventuring society known as the Men of the Green, seeing in them younger, more energetic defenders of the wilderlands than himself.

    The Greens are known to have used the sphere in their epic overland Hunt of the Beholder King - a quest that ended in tragic victory. They would slay the beholder, who would develop a spell allowing it to generate monsters, like a deepspawn). All the rangers would perish save one, Aulburne Mathtarke, who would take the sphere to Holyheart House in the Chondalwood (due south of Timindar), where he would die. There the Eldathyns would decide that the Crystrum of Tranquility would be better served in safe concealment and place Roathoald, a priest of Eldath, to be its keeper. »

  • Silvanus is seen roaming in Winterwood and the heart of the Chondalwood. He also reportedly provides his special blessing to the island of Ilighon, home of the Emerald Enclave and his Chosen. »

  • Kythorn A two-headed flying wyvern-like creature is claimed to have attacked a hunting expedition from Arrabar in the Chondalwood. No such creature has ever been recorded as being seen before. »
