  • Carath, priest of Helm and possessor of the Helm of Helm reputation has grown due to the hundreds of priests of Helm who had begun their careers under his wise tutelage at the Guardtower of the God. Priests of Talos and Shar attack the temple to destroy it and him.

    They fell the walls and crush Carath in his courtyard. A grief-crazed Tayana flies up out of the ruins and defeats the invading priests with mighty spells. When she is done, Tayana embraces her beloved Carath and willingly burns to death. It is from this event that the Helm of Helm emits a burnt smell whenever magical fire is active within a half-mile of it.

    Some years later, a Helmite priest by the name of Rolor, who saw himself as the new Sword of Helm, visits the ruins of the Guardtower of the God, and the Helm rises out of the fire-scarred rubble to hover in front of him. Rolor takes it and marches off into the Tunland to found a new realm dedicated to Helm. He is known to have routed a Zhentarim patrol out of Darkhold, then walked into the Tunland. He and the Helm have not been seen since. »

  • Hammer 4 The Second Banedeath
    The Church of Cyric launches inquisitions in Yulash, Darkhold, Teshwave, Zhentil Keep, and the Citadel of the Raven to cleanse the Zhent holdings of non-Cyricist priests (including Kurth Dracomore of Darkhold).

    Following the destruction of Zhentil Keep, Scyulla Darkhope (a paladin/ranger of Tyr) makes a name for herself within the army and quickly climbs up the ranks largely due to her exceptional skill in combat. After the siege Scyulla is recognize as a champion of the city and she takes advantage of this status by becoming a powerful critic of the previous governance of the city. »

  • 1370 DR [Year of the Tankard]
  • The Manshoon Wars
    Fzoul Chembryl and Orgauth attacks Manshoon and Semommon. Manshoon is killed by Fzoul and Sememmon flees to Darkhold, severing the gates that link it with Zhentil Keep. Fzoul purges the Zhentarim of Manshoon's supporters, giving him control over most of the organization. Several clones of Manshoon awake at the same time and create havoc throughout Faerun. Fzoul and Orgauth take control of the Citadel of the Raven.

    A long-lost stasis clone of Manshoon awakens in the catacombs of Westgate as the Manshoon Wars begin. Prior to his awakening, this Manshoon clone had been abducted and drained by the Night King, a powerful vampire. As a vampire, the Manshoon clone hunts down and kills his creator, becoming the next Night King in turn. The Manshoon clone (now calling himself Orbakh) then sets about rebuilding the Night Masks to serve his ends, leading to rumors in Westgate that "the Faceless" has returned. »

  • Kythorn 7 Zhent troops from Darkhold ambush Dabron's caravan as it enters the pass through the Sunset Mountains wast of Hluthvar. The attack is repelled, but the caravan is forced to retreat to Hluthvar. »
