• 1297 DR [Year of the Singing Skull]
  • The son of Malice and Zaknafein Do'Urden, Drizzt of House Daermon Na'Shezbaeron, is born in Menzoberranzan. Using the power of the birth of Drizzt, his mother Malice was able to create a spell capable of defeating House Devir, and as a result House Do'Urden becomes the Ninth House of Menzoberranzan.

    As the third son, drow culture demanded that Drizzt be sacrificed to their goddess Lloth. However, the death of his older brother, and the first son, Nalfein, (incidentally, at the treacherous hand of the second son, Dinin) in the battle against House DeVir made him the second son and spared him. »

  • 1307 DR [Year of the Mace]
  • Drizzt Do'Urden, who was raised up until now by his sister Vierna, turns 10 years old and is turned over to his oldest sister Briza for training to be the Page Prince. »

  • 1313 DR [Year of the Shattered Oak]
  • Drizzt Do'Urden, having turned 16 years old, completes his time as Page Prince. Malice, wanting to replace his first born son Nalfein, as house wizard, brings in Zaknafein, house Do'Urden's Weapon Master, to have him give Drizzt basic combat training. However, Zaknafien convinces Malice that Drizzt is better skilled to be a fighter. Having convinced Malice, Drizzt begins his tutelage under Zaknafien to become a skilled swordsman. »

  • 1317 DR [Year of the Wandering Wyrm]
  • Drizzt Do'Urden, having turned 20 years old, is sent to Melee-Magthere, Menzoberranzan's warrior academy. Being far more skilled then everyone in his class, the academy masters raise him to the class 3 years ahead. Drizzt defeats everyone there also.

    During his graduation ceremony, he refuses to take part in an orgy with high priestesses. Vierna, angered by Drizzt's actions, shows him the fate of defiance by taking him to a drider's lair. Vierna spares Drizzt's life and returns him to the graduation ceremony, where no one noticed their absence and graduates with honors.

    He soon after begins patrolling the Underdark with his assigned patrol group, where he first begins fighting along-side Guenhwyvar, a magical figurine owned by Masoj of House Hun'ett.

    Not long after, he participates in his first surface raid. He spares the life of a surface elf child, Ellifain Tuuserail, by hiding her body underneath the corpse of her dead mother. This action causes House Do'Urden to fall out of favor with the Spider Queen, Lolth. »

  • 1328 DR [Year of the Adder]
  • Zaknafein, believing that Drizzt had succumbed to the evil ways of the drow, decides that killing Drizzt would be better than allowing his son to live out an evil life. Zaknafein confronts Drizzt in battle. However, Drizzt reveals the truth and Zaknafein, relieved, reveals to Drizzt that he is his father and together they formulate a plan to escape from Menzoberranzan to live in peace.

    Unfortunately, Matron Malice and her daughters, in a bid to find out why House Do'Urden was no longer in Lolth's favor, discovers their plan. Malice informs Zak of her plan to sacrifice their son, but Zak offers himself as a sacrifice instead of Drizzt, which was Malice's plan all along. Drizzt is offered to serve as the house's new Weapons Master, but Drizzt refuses and escapes into the Underdark. Before leaving the city, Drizzt is confronted by Masoj. Drizzt defeats him and takes Guenhwyvar with him. Drizzt survives the next ten years of self-imposed exile in the Underdark by embracing a more savage side of his psyche he calls "The Hunter". »

  • 1338 DR [Year of the Wanderer]
  • Drizzt Do'Urden arrives in Blingdenstone, where he befriends the Svirfneblin Belwar Dissengulp. The admittance of the drow renegade and his brief residence therein marks the end of centuries of isolation for the deep gnomes.

    Drizzt is later forced to leave Blingdenstone, due to the fear of its citizens and Drizzt's mental state. Belwar chooses to join the drow. The pair later teams up with Clacker, a pech that was turned into a hook horror by an evil wizard.

    The three are enslaved by illithids of Phanlinksal, only to be saved by the undead Zaknafein (who was raised by Malice using a special necromantic spell of Lolth called Zin-Carla and tasked in finding and slaying Drizzt), and quite separately, Guenhwyvar, who came to this plane by following curious illithids that were traveling the astral plane to examine the magical creature. The surviving illithids flee to Guantlgrym.

    Drizzt and Zaknafein later fight over a volcanic river, and Drizzt's undead father is able to regain control of himself long enough to hurl his body into the lava. This failure to bring the renegade Drizzt under control heralds the end of House Do'Urden. »

  • 1340 DR [Year of the Lion]
  • Drizzt Do'Urden begins his life on the surface. »

  • 1341 DR [Year of the Gate]
  • Montolio Debrouchee, Mooshie to his friends, invites Drizzt Do'Urden into his grove. There he teaches the drow the Common tongue and the ways of a ranger in service to the goddess Mielikki. Mooshie dies peacefully in his sleep as the first snows of winter descend over the grove. »

  • 1347 DR [Year of the Bright Blade]
  • Drizzt Do'Urden arrives in Icewind Dale for the first time. »

  • 1356 DR [Year of the Worm]
  • Wulfgar, wanting to present a trophy worthy of granting him the right to challenge his tribes chief, Heafstaag, goes in search of the white dragon Icingdeath. Drizzt Do'Urden follows in secret, and together they slay the wyrm. Among the treasures, Drizzt claims the magical scimitar "Icingdeath". »

  • Akar Kessel, possessor of the Crystal Shard, moves against Ten-Towns with his army.

    Wulfgar takes the horns of Icingdeath and challenges Heafstaag for kingship of his tribe and wins, killing the old king. He then leads the tribe into battle against Akar Kessel and his army in defense of Ten Towns.

    Drizzt, recognizes and confronts the demon Errtu. He is able to defeat the demon and banish it using his new magical scimitar "Icingdeath". Drizzt (with Guenhwyvar) confront Akar, and the the two are teleported to the top of a mountain. There, after a short battle, the magical heat of Crenshinibon destabilizes the snow cap, and an avalanche kills Akar and buries the Crystal Shard. Drizzt manages to survive. With the Crystal Shard cutoff from its source of power (the sun), it losses its control over the orc and goblin army, and they are defeated by the combined might of the Ten Towns, the barbarians and the dwarves of clan Battlehammer.

    Bruenor, faking mortal injury, tricks Drizzt into agreeing to search for Mithral Hall. »

  • The Companions of the Hall find lost Mithral Hall while being pursued by Artemis Entreri, who had kidnapped Catti-brie. In Luskan, Artemis allies himself with the wizard, Dendybar the Mottled of the Hosttower of the Arcane, who wants to gain information on the whereabouts of the Crystal Shard. The wizard sends his apprentice Sydney, along with his golem (Bok) and a soldier named Jierdan.

    Inside Mithral Hall, Drizzt gets separated with Entrari, and the two are forced to cooperate to survive. The rest of the Companions believe that Drizzt had died, Bruenor takes Drizzt's scimitar "Icingdeath". Bruenor slays the shadow dragon Haerinvureem (Shimmergloom) by setting himself and the dragon on fire (though Bruenor survives thanks to the power of Drizzt's scimitar "Icingdeath", which protects its possessor from fire). The surviving members of the Companion believe that Bruenor has died while they are reunited with Drizzt.

    Artemis Entreri kidnaps Regis and flees to Calimport, he also has in his possession the magical onyx figurine that summons Guenhwyvar, which he had stolen from Drizzt while they were together. Drizzt and Wulfgar give pursuit to rescue Regis and Guenwyvar. Along the way, they visit the wizard Malchor Harpell at the Twilight Tower, who gives Drizzt the elven forged magical scimitar "Twinkle".

    Meanwhile, Bruenor has survived his journey through the under-tunnels of Mithral Hall, and is rescued by Alustriel. Bruenor and Catti-brie travel to Drizzt and Wulfgar riding a flying flaming chariot conjured by Alustriel. Bruenor saves Drizzt and Wulfgar, who were being attacked by pirates.

    In Calimport, the Companions rescue Regis and Guenwyvar, and destroy Pahsa Pook's guild. Drizzt and Artemis duel, but a clear victor is not made evident. The Companions return to Mithral Hall, while Regis remains in Calimport to run the former pasha's operations. »

  • 1357 DR [Year of the Prince]
  • Bruenor Battlehammer retakes Mithral Hall (with aid from his fellow Companions of the Hall, soldiers from Silverymoon and his dwarven clan, dwarves from Citadel Adbar led by Dagna Waybeard, and wizards from the Harpell family) from the minions of the now dead shadow dragon Haerinvureem (Shimmergloom) and is crowned the eighth king of Mithral Hall. The first mithral goods begin coming to market in late autumn.

    Heading to Silverymoon at the invitation of Alustriel, Drizzt comes acros the path of a band of monsters and their slaves. Joining with a band of farmers from Pengallen, they defeat the band, though not before one of the slaves, a goblin named Nojheim, escapes. Having been told the goblin was a captured war band leader who was to have a trial, Drizzt tracks him down and returns him, whereupon he learns that Nojheim is as temperamentally different a goblin as Drizzt is a drow. Traveling to Silverymon to appeal to Alustriel's sense of justice, Drizzt isn't there to stop Nojheim's owner from hanging him. »

  • Artemis Entreri, disguised as Regis (with the aid of a magical mask), arrives at Mithral Hall during the preparation of the wedding of Wulfgar and Catti-brie. Together with Drizz't's sister, Vierna (now calling herself Noamuth Lil), Dinin Do'Urden (turned into a drider by her sister Vierna), Jarlaxle and members of his Bregan D'aerthe mercenaries, Artemis Entreri try and capture Drizz't.

    Artemis and Drizzt fight. Artemis is defeated and left to die, but is rescued by Jarlaxle. Wulfgar appearently dies fighting a yochlol summoned by Vierna, but is actually taken to the abyss, and the clutches of Lolth herself. Vierna is killed by Drizzt.

    After rescuing the assassin Artemis Entreri, Jarlaxle takes Artemis to the drow city of Menzoberranzan. Drizzt enters the drow city (after visiting the svirfneblin city of Blingdenstone and his old friend Belwar Dissengulp) to determine what the drow intentions are. He is captured by members of House Baenre.

    Catti-brie follows Drizzt into the underdark. Drizzt slays Vendes Baenre as he and Catti-brie escape (with the aid of Artemis Entrari). After Drizzt defeats Dantrag Baenre, Catti-brie takes Khazid'hea from the fallen Dantrag. Catti-brie causes a stalagtite to fall on the main cathedral to Lolth.

    Artemis joins the two when escaping the drow city. »

  • 1358 DR [Year of Shadows]
  • House Oblodra of Menzoberranzan, its psionic power unaffected by the disruption in magic caused by the Time of Troubles, attempts to seize control of Menzoberranzan. With the help of Lolth (through the balor Errtu and the demons under his control) and Bregain D'aerthe, House Baenre destroys House Oblodra. Lolth gained the services of Errtu by offering the soul of Wulfgar as payment, who accepted the barbarian to get revenge against Drizzt Do'Urden. »

  • Battle of Keeper's Dale
    House Baenre leads an army of drow, goblins, and kobolds out of Menzoberranzen to attack the dwarves of Mithral Hall (but after visiting Blingdenstone, fortunately, the svirfneblin had already abandoned the city). The dwarves are aided by svirfneblin, local barbarians, troops from Nesme and Silverymoon, and even the mysterious Harpells of Longsaddle and Lady Alustriel herself (including the Companions of the Hall, Drizz't Do"Urden, Catti-brie, and Regis). The drow are ultimately defeated and driven back to their homeland.

    In this battle, the matron of House Baenre is killed by Bruenor Battlehammer, just as all magic in Faerun stops during the Time of Troubles. With the matrons death, the spirit of Gandalug Battlehammer (who's spirit was magically trapped in a magical item), First king of Mythral Hall is returned to life. Gandalug strangles and kills Bladen'Kerst Baenre with her own whip.

    Quenthel Baenre attempts to escape through a dimensional door, but Drizzt, after defeating a glabrezu, catches up to and slays Quenthel.

    The illithid Methil El-Viddenvelp is thought to have been killed (mortally wounded by Catti-brie wielding Khazid'hea), but he is rescued by Bregan D'aerthe.

    Leadership of the Sept of Ill'Ghact eventually passes into the hands of Galgast. »

  • 1364 DR [Year of the Wave]
  • Through cryptic messages, Drizzt believes that Errtu has someone he cares for in his possession. Seeking magical aid, Drizzt sees Cadderly Bonaduce at the Spirit Soaring, who summons the balor to this world to question him. This act releases Errtu from his banishment, and the balor returns to the Realms and continues his search for Crenshinibon, the Crystal Shard. The Companions give the demon chase to recover their lost friend, who turns out to be Wulfgar.

    Drizzt and the Companions of the Hall (Bruenor Battlehammer, Catti-brie, Wulfgar, and Regis) banish Errtu back to the Abyss once more, and Wulfgar is freed.

    They then travel back to the Spirit Soaring to give the Crystal Shard to Cadderly. The Companions meet the drow priest Rai-guy Bondalek, a member of Bregan D'aerthe, who used magic to appear as Cadderly. The Companions give the Crystal Shard to him, and in so doing, hand a powerful artifact to Jarlaxle Baenre, leader of Bregan D'aerthe. »

  • Artemis Entreri and the rest of the Basadoni Guild continue their "war" against all neighboring Guilds of Calimport with the help of Bregan D'aerthe.

    Jarlaxle arranges a fair duel between Drizz't Do'Urden and Artemis within a tower created by Crenshinibon. Artemis defeats Drizz't, and he believes that he had killed his old nemesis. Drizz't is healed without Entrari's knowledge by Rai-guy. Drizz't parts with Jarlaxle accepting, though not comfortable with, his possession of the powerful artifact.

    Artemis gains the sword, Charon's Claw, in an attempt to gain an advantage against the drow psion Kimmuriel Oblodra and Rai-guy Bondalek of Bregan D'aerthe

    Jarlaxle is slowly being seduced by the power of Crenshinibon. Artemis Entreri feels that it is necessary to help him get rid of the artifact. They seek out Cadderly Bonaduce, a Chosen of Deneir at the Spirit Soaring.

    Cadderly discovers that the only way to destroy the artifact is to have a great wyrm red dragon breath fire on it. They go to the lair of Hephaestus, a local red dragon. Despite the interference of the illithid Yharaskrik, and the betrayal of Rai-guy, the group manages to destroy the Crystal Shard by dragon fire, which also slays Rai-guy and Yharaskrik and leaves Hephaestus permanently blind. »

  • 1370 DR [Year of the Tankard]
  • Nightal Gandalug Battlehammer, the First and Ninth King of Mithral Hall dies of old age in the waning days of this year. Thibbledorf Pwent and the famed Gutbuster Brigade are dispatched to Icewind Dale to inform Bruenor Battlehammer, Eighth King of Mithral Hall that he was now the Tenth King of Mithral Hall.

    As Bruenor trekked back to Mithral Hall from Icewind Dale, they came across two survivors of a dwarven caravan that included Duggan McKnuckles, Bokkum and Stokkum. All 3 died in the attack. Events thereafter led them to Shallows, which Bruenor sought to defend from Obould's horde, led by his son Urlgen.

    Drizzt Do'Urden distracts some frost giants, leading them on a chase which leeds to him entering a cave system through a narrow gap. The giants are unable to follow him inside, and block off the entrance with boulders. Drizzt spends several days looking for an alternative way out, and when he finds one, he returns near to Shallows to witness the collapse of its wizard tower, with a figure he thought to be Bruenor on it (it is in fact Dagnabbit Waybeard, son of Mithral Hall's dwarven general Dagna Waybeard). Dagnabbit is killed, whom Drizz't assumes is Bruenor. »

  • The orc hordes of King Obould Many-Arrows swarm out of the Underdark and lay siege to Mithral Hall.

    Acting in concert, the two-headed troll Proffit and his army of trolls attacks and destroys Nesme. Dagna Waybeard, dwarven general of Mithral Hall is killed in battle. Banak Brawnanvil is injured by a goblin spear, his spine broken, he is unable to use his legs (the gnome alchemist Nanfoodle Buswilligan would later makes a wheelchair for Banak).

    Catti-brie sneaks up on a pair of orcs at a campfire east of Shallows before realizing it was an ambush. She is outnumbered heavily and succumbs to the stones, spears and other weapons used against her, but not before slaying a number of the orcs. She believes that she is going to die, but is rescued by Wulfgar who single-handedly eliminates most of the orcs, causing the remainder to flee.

    In another conflict with frost giants, Catti-brie is crippled when her legs are struck by a giant thrown boulder. Khazid'hea, the sentient sword, realizes that Catti-brie can no longer wield it. The sword dominates Delly Curtie and forces her to give up Colson to Cottie Cooperson and travel north behind the enemy orc lines. Delly comes upon some orcs and falls in battle with them. Khazid'hea, passes from orc to orc, until Drizz't Do'Urden eventually gains possession of it. Drizz't uses it in battle against Obould. The blade gets stuck in the orcs enchanted armor and Obould tries to wield it, only to toss it away when the sentient sword tries to communicate with the orc, believing it to be some sort of trickery.

    Khazid'hea is eventually found by the drow, Tos'un Armgo. Later realizing that he doesn't have as much command over the weapon as he believed, Tos'un returns the sword to Drizzt who donates it to the elves of the Moonwood for study. »

  • 1372 DR [Year of Wild Magic]
  • Chieftain Grguch of Clan Karuck, a rogue chieftain of Obould's horde attacks both the Moonwood and Mithral Hall's new eastern wall.

    Innovindil of the Moonwood and her pegasus steed Sunset are both killed in a skirmish with Clan Karuck on the western edge of her home.

    Grguch of Clan Karuck, legendary among the Orcs of the north, challenges Obould for the leadership of the gathered orcs. When it seems that Obould would win, Grguch is aided by the strange wizard known as Jack the Gnome. However, Bruenor and Drizz't come upon the battle, and Bruenor makes the decision to aid Obould and battles and slays Grguch. Drizz't, with the aid of Gwenwyvar, slays Jack the Gnome.

    Drizzt Do'Urden and Catti-brie are married.

    The Treaty of Garumn's Gorge is signed between Bruenor Battlehammer, king of Mithral Hall and King Obould Many-Arrows, officially recognizing the Kingdom of Many-Arrows. It is the first ever Orc kingdom. »
