    For centuries the couatls (Called into service by the god Ubtao, an army of winged serpents arrives in the jungles of Chult from Maztica) and the yuan-ti battle each other for control of the Chultan Peninsula. Time and again the yuan-ti are forced to concede their westernmost holdings to the couatls, until the war ends in a stalemate with the Hazur Mountains as the dividing line between the two territories. »

  • In opposition to the corrupt dark elves of Ilythiir and their continued destruction of the forested elven homelands by fire (an elven enemy of long-standing), over 1,000 priests and High Mages in neutral Illefarn and other free areas spend decades in fervent prayer for salvation by Corellon Larethian and the Seldarine gods. »

  • Shevarash the Black Archer dies but undergoes apotheosis to become the Night Hunter and Arrow Bringer. This green elf demigod of the Seldarine is still a hunter and vengeful destroyer of drow, but now hunts Lolth and Vhaeraun directly (though he no longer considers Eilestraee and her worshipers to be among his prey). »

  • The orc god Grummsh kills the Mulhorandi deity Ra in the first known deicide. »

  • The Untheric gods Inanna, Girru, Ki, Nanna-Sin, Nergal, and Utu are slain by orc gods. »

  • During the final Battle of the Gods, Tiamat launches a surprise attack against Gilgeam while he battles Ilneval. The ever-vigilant Marduk (an aspect of Bahamut) intervenes, killing Tiamat before she can land a death blow against Gilgeam, but at the cost of his own life. »

  • A power struggle in Mulhorand between Osiris and Set to suceed Ra results in the murder of Osiris. »

  • -1048 DR
  • Isis resurrects Osiris. Horus-Re battles Set and becomes chief of the Mulhorandi pantheon. The First Mulhorand Empire ends. »

  • 240 DR [Year of the Chosen]
  • Elminster defeats Athalantar's ruler, King Beluar and his Magelords. As Elminster and Myrjala leave Athalantar, they are attacked by Undarl, whereupon Myrjala reveals herself as Mystra. She makes Elminster Aumar her Chosen and then sends him to Cormanthyr. Athalantar adopts a new royal line since Elminster forgoes the throne. The outlaw knight Helm Stoneblade is crowned King of Athalantar. »

  • 292 DR [Year of Frostfires]
  • The Magister Adriyana, sickened by the magical devastation of her beloved woodlands, pleads with Mystra to be removed from office. She is transformed into the magical artifact Adriyana's Garter. »

  • 345 DR [Year of Flying Daggers]
  • The Magister Hortil Droone is killed in spellbattle with the sorceress Phambra "The Laughing Doom" Chalyphar. Mystra transforms Hortil into the Crown of the Undying Flame, a royal crown of Westgate, and Phambra becomes Magister.

    Phambra is killed in spell battle (after reigning as Magister for six months) with Arghorst "The Tall" Talandor. Arghost becomes Magister. »

  • 464 DR [Year of True Names]
  • While wandering across Anauroch, Arun's Son comes across his father who was escorting some Evereskan elves, his then wife and children, westward when they had come under attack from phaerimm. After both Arun's Son and Arun ran low on spells and hiding under a protective sphere, Arun strikes the Duskstaff of Sareal using his Lupinaxe, killing them both and transforming the surrounding desert into a crater of glass.

    Arun's Son is resurrected by Mystra and becomes her Chosen, "he whom magic, duty, and honor defines". As the Nameless Chosen, he becomes the first human ever to stay among Evereska's glades. »

  • 527 DR [Year of Tatters]
  • Growing bored of his duties and of grasping, petty human mages, the Magister Morglord asks Mystra for release from his office. She agrees, and Morglord is transformed into a sentient gate in or around Waterdeep. »

  • 607 DR [Year of the Crystal Vambrace]
  • Weary of the strife and destruction that accompanied his years in office, the Magister Velgron Kataclath petitions Mystra for release. She agrees, and he is transformed into the artifact known as the Haunted Flagon.

  • 1246 DR [Year of Burning Steel]
  • Hoth of the Six Curses, a mage hired by a man that Andaren Robyth had not quite killed finds Andaren in his cave overlooking Phannaskull to kill him. Andaren buys his life by giving Hoth Yornar's Trail Companion (an artifact of Mielliki). Hoth takes the Companion and teleports the thief to Westgate, where he enjoys a short but colorful career.

    When Hoth discovers that the Companion contained nothing he could use, he disgustedly sells it in a bazaar in Morghyr. The man who bought it made the mistake of double-crossing a fellow merchant - who turned out to be part of a druuth (a small band of dopplegangers working for a mind flayer).

    The leader of the druuth tries to trade the Companion for a more useful magical item, but happened to choose the wrong man to try to trade with: the Elderly Rhighaermon O'Antlers, who uses every thing in his power to slay the illithid, seize the Companion, and take to to the nearest temple of Mielikki. He is successful, though sorely wounded and hotly pursued by dopplegangers. The priests of the temple were about to aid Rhighaermon when Mielikki herself appeared and took the Companion and slayed the pursuers. The next day, the Companion was found on the alter with a command from the goddess to continue the "Rightful Cycle". »

  • 1358 DR [Year of Shadows]
  • Waukeen places her divinity in trust with a fellow goddess, Llirra, and escapes the Realms to the Astral Plane with the aid of a god from another world. Soon afterward, the Merchant's Friend is betrayed by the Demon Prince Graz'zt and imprisoned in the Abyss. »

  • Lady Kaitlin Tindall Bloodhawk is possessed by the deity the Red Knight and defends strife-torn Tethyr from an army of monsters that threaten to surge forth from the Forest of Tethyr during the Time of Troubles. »

  • The avatar of Sseth appears briefly above the water of the Lapal Sea before battling the dinosaur avatar of Ubtao on the eastern edge of the Jungle of Chult.

    Sseth stops answering the prayers of the sarrukh of Okoth, and the sarrukh approach the divine minions of the deity Set and agree to bind their god Sseth into eternal slumber if they are granted spells and aid in their battle against the khaasta. At the end of the Time of Troubles, Set claims Sseth's portfolio. »

  • The avatars of Clangeddin Silverbeard, the dwarven god of battle and Labelas Enoreth, the elven god of longevity battle on the island of Ruathym. Labelas is the victor of this misunderstanding. »

  • Roar of Shadows: Malar attempts to enter the confines of the Guthmere Forest to destroy the druids residing there but is battled by Nobanion and the druids of the Emerald Enclave. He is driven northwest towards the Sword Coast. »
