  • -11800 DR
  • Miyeritar is militarily occupied and annexed by Aryvandaar, though a number of clans and strongholds resist and continue to fight. Many elves of Illefarn, despite its officially neutral stance, provide secret safe havens for Miyeritari refugees. »

  • -10110 DR
  • In opposition to the corrupt dark elves of Ilythiir and their continued destruction of the forested elven homelands by fire (an elven enemy of long-standing), over 1,000 priests and High Mages in neutral Illefarn and other free areas spend decades in fervent prayer for salvation by Corellon Larethian and the Seldarine gods. »

  • -9900 DR
  • Aryvandaar's covert persecution of High Mages and priests begins, as they attempt to destroy or control any who might somehow force their descent as they did the drow. Although not destroyed utterly, Illefarn and its colony in the Llewyrrwood (present-day Neverwinter Wood) are annexed by Aryvandaar as its nobility of priests and High Mages died under the persecution of the increasingly-crazed Coronal Gillvas Vyshaan. Many elves of both lands flee to the remnants of Shantel Othreier. »

  • -9000 DR
  • End of the Fifth Crown War
The Fifth Crown War ends with the utter defeat of the Vyshaan and the dissolution of Aryvandaar. Much of the High Forest is abandoned for an age, leaving the forest open so the gods might restore its peace. Many elves begin migrating back to the Elven Court in the eastern forests, while others migrate into the Inner Sea (this marks the last great elven migration to Seros). Keltormir and Illefarn emerge intact from the Crown Wars, and the latter realm joins with the vassal realm of Ardeep now that Shantel Othreir is no more. »

  • Orcs pour forth from the Spine of the World, but the elves of Eaerlann and Illefarn turn them back with help from the fledgling Netherese Empire and the Reingarth barbarians. The tribal lands of the Rengarth are absorbed into Netheril, although the barbarians remain largely autonomous. »

  • -3595 DR
  • War breaks out between the elven nations of Eaerlann, Miyeritar, and Illefarn. The humans, caught in the middle, are unable to trade with one for fear of retribution from the others. »

  • -3386 DR
  • Hoyden is established by elves seeking to end the squabbling between the nations of Eaerlann, Miyeritar, and Illefarn. Hoyden enjoys a peaceful existence with the sylphs and pixies. Each helped the other in dealing with the troublesome orcs of the Hidden Forest; the orcs, in turn, quickly learned to leave Hoyden alone, though infrequent tests of the village's defenses were not unheard of. »

  • -3354 DR
  • War between the two remaining elven nations (Illefarn? / Eaerlann?) comes to an end. The 240 year war decimates their number thrice over. »

  • -2368 DR
  • The Terraseer establishes Quesseer (Old Owl Well) north of the Sword Mountains. The settlement becomes a trademeet for the Netherese expatriates, the elves of Illefarn, the seafarers of Illusk, the nomadic Ice Hunters, and the dwarves of fallen Haunghdannar. »

  • c. -1100 DR
  • Illefarn's last coronal, Syglaeth Audark, commands a Retreat to Evermeet. The remnants of the elf empire fragment into the independant realms of Ardeep, Iliyanbruen (in Neverwinter Wood), and Rilthar (in Westwood and Kryptgarden Forest). »

  • -1100 DR
  • Aelinthaldaar, the capital city of Illefarn, is razed by elven High Magic on the order of Illefarn's coronal, Syglaeth Audark and then orders a retreat to Evermeet. Virtually nothing is left to indicate that an elf city had stood on the site for seven millennia. Illefarn fragments into the independent elven realms of Ardeep (present-day Ardeep Forest), Illiyanbruen (present-day Neverwinter Wood) and Rillthar (present-day Westwood and Kryptgarden Forest). By year's end, human barbarian trives are using the site for its excellent deepwater harbor. »

  • 342 DR [Year of the Cantobele Stalking]
  • Athalantar falls to an orc horde from the High Moor. The orcs are in turn destroyed by an unlikely alliance of moon elves from Ardeep and dwarves from Dardath. The last Council of Illefarn is called, and the long-fragmented elf realm of Illefarn is officially dissolved with the remaining wood elves of Illiyanbruen and many wood elves from Rilithar departing for Evermeet. Ardeep and Dardath formally ally and look to create further alliances with the humans of the region. »

  • 523 DR [Year of Trials Arcane]
  • Younger moon elves of Clan Starym return to Myth Drannor from Eaerlann, Illefarn, and elsewhere to Myth Drannor, restoring that house as a social power and taking over the house lordship with the absence of Josidiah Starym. As a stalling maneuver to prevent Josidiah's loss of status, the Coronal demands that the current Lord, Illitran Starym draw his family's moonblade, long held in trust and undrawn since its forging to attest to the loyalty and worthiness of the clan and its lord.

Lord Illitran Starym undergoes a Cleansing March, a three-month-long trek out into the deepest woods of Cormanthyr intended to purify his spirit and ready him for the responsibilities of wielding a moonblade. Unknown to all, he treks to Monader's abandoned temple and forges a pact with the imprisoned deity, allowing him to draw the blade upon his return to the City of Songs without suffering its retributive powers and corrupting the blade to be designed to slay humans and half-elves. »

  • 1357 DR [Year of the Prince]
  • The dwarves of Clan Ironeater reclaim the ruined halls of Illefarn. »
