  • The realm of Stornanter is established in the North with Laeral Silverhand the Witch-Queen as its ruler and Port Llast as its capital. Realizing the importance and strategic location of ruined Illusk, Laeral sees to the rebuilding and resettling of this city. After personally exploring the Host Tower and encountering the lich survivors of the Grand Cabal, Laeral erects magical barriers around the structure to bar entry. »

  • 841 DR [Year of the Hunted Elk]
  • Laeral the Witch-Queen of the North unknowingly comes into conflict with her sister Sylune. The goddess Mystra appears to both of them and offers them the mantle of Chosen. They both leave Faerun for a time to travel the planes, and the departure of Laeral sees the swift collapse of Stornanter, as greedy nobles attempt to seize power for themselves. »

  • 875 DR [Year of the Stricken Star]
  • Algashon coerces Sammaster to attack Alustriel, intending to steal her silver fire through a vile ceremony while she was at a disadvantage. However, Alustriel called on Elminster and Laeral, and together the three Chosen killed Sammaster. Azuth then appears and strips Sammaster's body of its silver fire. After they depart, Algashon resurrects Sammaster who is now quietly mad but still blessed with long life and the ability to heal quickly.

    In the years that follow, Sammaster draws on his own translation of Maglas's prophecy, Algashon's whisperings, and ancient tomes unearthed from ruins beneath the Anauroch and Raurin deserts. Sammaster and Algashon founded the first Dragon Cult cell in the city of Chondathan (now the Sembian city of Saerloon) and set about creating all manner of draconic undead. »

  • 1311 DR [Year of the Fist]
  • The mage Arklem Greeth comes to Luskan and bypasses the ancient magic wards that Laeral Silverhand placed around the Host Tower. He forms the Brotherhood of the Arcane with the aid of the Old Ones - powerful liches who were once members of the legendary Grand Cabal of Illusk. Arklem names himself Archmage Arcane of the Brotherhood. »

  • 1337 DR [Year of the Wandering Maiden]
  • The adventuring band known as The Nine, led by Laeral Silverhand, acquires the Crown of Horns. Laeral dons the headpiece and descends into madness. The band fragments into three warring factions, and their lair known as the Stronghold of the Nine and located along the banks of the Unicorn Run, becomes a battleground. »

  • 1344 DR [Year of Moonfall]
  • Mirtul Most High Moonpriestess Thurlara "Old Bones" Shaulauna, possessor of one of the rings of the Moonweb, Shelmroun, is missing. Her hand however is found, missing the middle finger (where Selunites customarily wear magic rings). The Selunites of the remote monastery of Corthoun, in the woods south of Loudwater (the nearest Selunite temple) had suffered a doppleganger infestation, one of which had replaced the High Moonlord Evren Thildaran, who was the possessor of one of the Moonweb rings, Amglaer. The battle between the priests and the shapeshifters ends with the temple in ruins.

    The Moonweb ring Tilithar is given by the Priestess of the High Moonlight to Blackstaff Tower and Lady Laeral, unfortunately the tower and the lady are illusions, and the ring and the priestess both vanish.

    Selunite priests beseech the goddess for guidance. She instructs them to guard the last ring, Enthandas, which was held at Tharynd in the mountains west of Dolphingulf. The temple is assaulted by feywings, darkenbeasts, and gargoyles, and the ring is lost.

    In the fall of this year, Selune manifests as moon radiance in every holy place of the faith and instructs her clergy that hence forth the rings of the Moonweb are no longer to be held in temples by ranking clergy but to wander the Realms in the hands of adventurers. The search for the rings however, continues. »

  • 1357 DR [Year of the Prince]
  • Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun travels to the stronghold of the band known as The Nine in the High Forest and rescues Laeral Silverhand from the evil influence of the Crown of Horns. Khelben takes Laeral to Waterdeep and Blackstaff Tower. There, they form a romantic bond, and Laeral becomes known in the city of Waterdeep as Lady Arunsun.
    Khelben stores the Crown of Horns in Blackstaff Tower behind powerful adjurations. »

  • 1361 DR [Year of Maidens]
  • Four Cult of the Dragon archmages arrive outside Silverymoon and unleash spells to draw Alustriel out. She and Taern "Thunderspell" dispatch two of them easily, but Taern and other Spellguard members are soon kept busy with a dracolich unleashed on the southern walls. Alustriel defeats another Cult mage, but only the timely arrival of Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun and Laeral Silverhand saves Alustriel's life against the final archmage. »

  • 1370 DR [Year of the Tankard]
  • Tarsakh 22 The Harpers discover Khelben's dealings with Fzoul. A Tribunal is called in by the High Harpers at Twilight Hall in Berdusk. Khelben is found guilty, he renounces his allegiance to the Harpers, turning in his pin.

    The Tel'Teukiira (The Moonstars) are founded by Khelben to further his goals. Many high-ranking ex-Harpers join, including Laeral Silverhand, Mintipur Moonsilver, Myrmeen Lhal, and Malchor Harpell. »

  • 1371 DR [Year of the Unstrung Harp]
  • Nightal 26 Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun along with several other Chosen of Mystra muster a relief army in Waterdeep and set out to lift the phaerimm siege on Evereska.

    The relief army becomes trapped in Evereska after failing to raise the siege there. An army drawn from the members of the Lords' Alliance and led by Laeral Silverhand Arunsun also marches for Evereska in the last days of this year to aid Khelben's troops, but does not arrive for several months. »

  • Prince Lamruil of Evermeet, his human consort Maura Silverhand (daughter of Laeral Silverhand Arunsun), and their followers travel to the far northern reaches of Faerun to establish a hidden city called Auseriel. They bring the Tree of Souls with them, given to them by the prince's mother, Queen Amlaruil of Evermeet, intending to plant it at the heart of a new refuge for the Fair Folk once the city begins to flourish. »

  • 1372 DR [Year of Wild Magic]
  • Mirtul 20 After five months of battling phaerimms and armies of bugbears and lizardfolk thralls led by beholders and illithid generals, the relief army led by Laeral Silverhand Arunsun and her sister Storm arrives in Evereska. »

  • Eleasis 2 The Shadovars lose the Karsestone when several of Mystra's Chosen (Khelben Arunsun, Laeral Silverhand, Alustriel Silverhand, Dove Falconhand, Storm Silverhand) and the stone giant Aris attack and damage Shade's mythallar, temporarily crippling the enclave. Galaeron Nihmedu, after having a falling out with the ruler of Shade, Telamont Tanthul, rescues Vala from Prince Escanor.

    Elves and their allies drive the phaerimms out of Evereska in a tenday, and the city's mythal is restored by month's end, aided by Galaeron.

    Galaeron's father dies while fighting the phaerimm and inherits his lordship. Galaeron is offered the position of Master of the Defenses by Lord Duirsar (who replaces Kiinyon Colbathin, who also died in the war), but turns it down, choosing instead to travel with Vala to her home, the Granite Tower, in Vaasa, along with his spirit-deep mate, the wood elf Takari Moonsnow. »

  • 1374 DR [Year of Lightning Storms]
  • Feast of the Moon Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun brings together many powerful mages in order to restore the denizens of the lost city of Miyeritaar's High Mages and cleanse part of the High Moor. In order to make the magic permanent, he and the Grand mage Ualair the Silent sacrifice themselves to create Rhymanthiin, the Hidden City of Hope.

    Laurel Silverhand Arunsun is pregnant with Khelben's twin children.

    After his death, Khelben's spirit remained in Blackstaff Tower to guide and advise future Blackstaffs.

    Tsarra Chaadren, the half-elf sorceress becomes the second Blackstaff. In public, she wears a magical illusion to make herself look like Khelben. »

  • Birth of Krehlan Arunsun, born to Laeral Silverhand Arunsun, the lady of Waterdeep. His was fathered by Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun. »

  • 1400 DR [Year of Lost Ships]
  • Krehlan Arunsun (son of Khelben and Laural) proclaims himself the (fourth) newest Blackstaff, following the example of his predecessor, Kyriani Agrivar. The method of his announcement starts a tradition that all Blackstaffs since have followed. »

  • 1487 DR [Year of the Rune Lords Triumphant]
  • Marpenoth 9 The monks of Candlekeep reveal to have several agents of other groups among their number, including netherese, red wizards and members of the Moonstars - including Laeral and Alustriel Silverhand. When the netherese monks attack their fellows, the others reveal themselves and battle for control of the library. Elminster deceives the netherese into believing that he is Telamont Tanthul and Larloch convinces him to use the wards of Candlekeep to bolster the new Weave but then betrays Elminster by stealing the power for himself in an attempt to become the new god of magic. »
