The citizens of Mintarn accept, and are surprised when Hoondarrh offers the crew of the first tribute ship to stop by his other isle and take not more than 2 cows each. »

  • 1018 DR [Year of the Dracorage]
  • Iryklathagra emerges from her lair and joins the massive flight of dragons ravaging Faerun. In a series of conflicts that lasted for nearly a month, Sharpfangs battled the defenders of Mintarn along the shores of the Lake of Steam, devastating that city and sinking many local ships in the process. When Iryklathagra finally retreated to her lair, she left Mintar largely in ruins. A few surviving magelords, who for years had labored to acquire power in the shadows of Mintar's government, emerges as the new leaders of the city by promising to protect the populace from future wyrm attacks. »

  • The Magelords of Mintarn rebuild their city after the attack by Iryklathagra during the last rage of dragons and plot their revenge against the dragon also known as Sharpfangs. Although their magical divinations finally revealed the site of the blue dragon's lair, plans by the magelords to destroy Iryklathagra were forstalled by their own defeat at the hands of the Harpers. In the chaos that ensued in Mintarn, the lore regarding Sharpfangs that had been gathered by the magelords fell into the hands of the Skeletal Finger thieves guild, a band of rogues active throughout the South. »

  • 1373 DR [Year of Rogue Dragons]
  • Mirtul 9 The ancient red dragon Hoondarrh, “The Red Rage of Mintarn”, emerges from his subterranean lair beneath the isle of Skadaurak and flies west toward the Moonshaes. In a rage befitting his name, the Red Rage vents his fury on the city of Callidyrr, setting much of the city ablaze. »

  • Balagos "The Flying Flame", male great wyrm red dragon (who has two lairs, the Smokespire, the most westerly peak of the arm of the Troll Mountains that shelters the upland forests of Amn north of Eshpurta, and the Wyrmwell, in Mount Thargil, easternmost of the Starspire Mountains), flies east to the Lake of Steam, where he unleashes a firestorm in the warring cities of Saelmur and Mintarn that leaves a new detente, with neither city able to muster the troop strength to mount a credible attack on the other. »
