  • Rise of the Sarrukh Empires (sauroid creator race)
    The introduction of cattle, sheep, and goats revolutionizes farming in the Durpar region. Herdes are semi-nomadic, driving their animals between seasonal pastures. By -35,000 DR, desertifiation of Durpar begins perhaps in part because of overgrazing. The herders' respond by migrating northwest from The Goldenwater to a region of semi-arid savanna they name Okoth.

    In Okoth, south of modern-day Mulhorand, the sarrukh found their first permanent settlements. Early sarrukh villages are dominated by temple complexes dedicated to the worship of the World Serpent. Most sarrukh settlements of this period have a population between two and eight thousand people, though Daar Mundigak itself, the largest city in Okoth, has over ten thousand.

    Within a hundred years, most of Faerûn is theirs. »

  • Imaskari artificers open twin gates to another world and magically abduct thousands of humans to serve as slaves. The artificers then erect a planar barrier to prevent contact between the slaves and their deities. Over time, the slaves intermarry with the Imaskari, and their descendants become a race in their own right that is latter called the Mulan. »

    With the elf and dwarf empires in decline, this era marks a dramatic increase in human expansion on Toril. The Mighty human empires of Calimshan, Mulhorand, and Unther arise during this era, as well as the now lost empires of Nethril, Jhaamdath, Narfell, and Raumathar.

    Towards the end of this era is a time of exploration and discovery, when new continents are discovered in the west (such as Maztica) and trade is reestablished with the east (Kara-Tur). The Great Glacier retreats, uncovering the realms of Vaasa and Damara. »

  • The god Re founds the city of Skuld and gives it the name "City of Shadows", which soon becomes the capital of a new nation called Mulhorand. The Mulhorandi calendar begins. »

  • -1967 DR
  • Unther and Mulhorand clash at the River of Swords, beginning the First Mulhorand-Unther War. Rashemi, Raumviran, Sossrim, and Nar tribesfolk are employed as mercenaries by both sides. »

  • -1961 DR
  • The god-kings of Mulhorand and Unther agree on a common border - the River of Swords. »

  • -1922 DR to -623 DR
  • Mulhorand begins to skirmish with the Durpari barbarians. Many Durpari tribes are wiped out or reduced to a few families over the ensuing centuries. »

  • c. -1500 DR
  • Mulhorandi expansion results in the settlement of the Priador and annexation of Murghom, the Plains of Purple Dust, and the Raurin Desert.

    Untheric expansion results in the settlement of the Wizard's Reach and much of the Eastern Shaar. »

  • Mulhorand conquers the eastern realm of Semphar. »

  • -1290 DR
  • The blue dragon Maldraedior begins his reign as the suzerain of the blue dragons in the area of Unther and Mulhorand. »

  • c. -1200 DR
  • The Boneyard, more properly known as Pholzubbalt, the Mausoleum City, is founded by a secret cabal of Mulhorandi necromancers deep under present-day Thesk. »

  • -1124 DR
  • The Mulhorandi outpost of Semkhrun is founded in Semphar. »

  • -1087 DR
  • The Theurgist Adept Thayd leads a rebellion of mages against Unther and Mulhorand, seizing the northern provinces of both empires as his own territory »

  • -1081 DR
  • Thayd and his conspirators are defeated. Before he is executed, Thayd prophesies that Mulhorand and Unther will decline. »

  • The Orcgate Wars
  • -1076 DR to -1069 DR
    The Orcgate opens in the southern portion of the Plateau of Thay. Renegade Mulhorandi wizards employ Imaskari portal magic to open planar gates to an orc world. Hundreds of thousands of orcs inundate the northern territories of both Mulhorand and Unther. Mulhorand hires Nar, Raumathari, Rashemi, and Sossrim mercenaries to fight the orc invaders.

    Yuireshanyaar is pressed hard by the invading orcs.
    Rashemen is overrun by the invading orcs. »

  • The orc god Grummsh kills the Mulhorandi deity Ra in the first known deicide. »

  • -1050 DR
  • A power struggle in Mulhorand between Osiris and Set to suceed Ra results in the murder of Osiris. »

  • -1048 DR
  • Isis resurrects Osiris. Horus-Re battles Set and becomes chief of the Mulhorandi pantheon. The First Mulhorand Empire ends. »

  • -623 DR [Year of Clipped Wings]
  • Early success by Narfell that extends the empire's reach to the northern shore of the Alamber Sea are reversed because of an ill-concieved invasion of Mulhorand (and Unther) and a surprise attack by Raumathar. In order to halt the empire's decline, legions of demons are summoned and openly march with Narfell's armies for the first time.

    Uthas "the Darkwing" Orgolath is slain during the surprise attack by Raumathar. His brother Ulthar "the Darkhorn" Orgolath succeeds his brother as Nentyarch. »

  • Paladins of Osiris destroy the Mulhorandi city of Sekras. »

  • The god-kings of Mulhorand and Unther battle an alliance of summoned creatures (almost all of them demons from the Abyss) and defeats them. Almost all of the fiends are sent back to their home plane. »
