  • A sarrukh lich of tremendous power disguises himself as a human archwizard and appears to the Netherese who have begun to learn magic from the Earlanni elves. Although he calls himself Arthindol, the Netherese dub him "Terraseer" for his power to see events all over the world. The Terraseer teaches secrets of the Art to humans and reappears to help them over the coming centuries, never seeming to age. Among his achievements are translations from many of the nether scrolls, the exploration of the Sword Coast North, the occupation of Old Owl Well, and the warning of impending doom at the hands of Karsus among many other prophecies and teachings. »

  • The nether scrolls are discovered amid the ruins of Aryvandaar (in an area west of the Far Horns Forest). The Netherese abandon the magic they learned from the Eaerlanni in favor of the scrolls' greater power. »

  • Two of the Nether Scrolls are stolen during an excursion in the High Forest. The mages carrying the scrolls are slaughtered by a grove of treants. The Scrolls are never recovered. »

  • The Fair Folk of Cormanthyr steal one set of the nether scrolls and hide it away in the depths of Windsong Tower. One the thieves, a gnome elf-friend named Rilmohx Sha'Quessir, steals a glance at one of the nether scrolls and is rewarded with a deep understanding of how to cast illusion spells. This knowledge spreads quickly through the gnome community. »

  • An unknown thief returns seven of Netheril's remaining Nether Scrolls to the ancient ruins of the Iqua Tel-Quessir (creator races). Three of the scrolls are placed in the Hall of Mists beneath Grandfather Tree of the High Forest, and two others are placed in the Crypt of Hssthak, which later becomes part of western Anauroch. The location of the other two scrolls remains unknown. »

  • Nine men break into the "Most Holy and Magical Chamber of Ioulaum the Demidivine" and steal 24 parts of Nether Scrolls. The two surviving thieves, fearful of the archwizard's retribution, pound the scrolls into indiscernible baubles and sell them for 260gp. »

  • Ecamane Truesilver becomes one of the first humans to learn of the transformed Nether Scrolls known as the Quess'ArTeranthvar and gain knowledge from them. After ten months of meditation, Ecamane leaves Windsong Tower, his hair prematurely white due to the magics and wisdom he gained from the artifact. »

  • Mintiper Moonsilver reportedly scatters the three Nether Scrolls from the Hall of Mists to other locations. »

  • The Knights of Myth Drannor foil a plot by the shadovar to obtain a copy of the Nether Scrolls. They succeed, causing riots in Thultanthar, but in doing so they also shatter the Sharn Wall and one of the scrolls still end up in the hands of the shades. »
