    The survivors panic and become lost, inadvertently moving deeper into the Great Glacier. Eventually, they reach the shores of the Lugalpgotek Sea. They renounce their faith in the gods, whom they hold responsible for their misfortune. Permanent settlements are established, and the hunters become the precursors of the Ulutiuns. »

  • The Sossrim clans of the Great Glacier are united under the rule of Ylaethar "the Bear", who proclaims himself Ornath (king) of the newly founded kingdom of Sossal. »

  • 460 DR [Year of Scorching Suns]
  • Treasure hunters from Sossal enter Angalpuk, bringing with them a rare disease that doesn't affect the hunters, but proves deadly to both Angulutiuns and caribou. Hundreds of Angulutiuns and caribou succumb to the sickness, before the carriers are isolated and exiled to the Ibelgrak Valley in the southeastern corner of Angalpuk. A few caribou and Angalpuk in the Ibelgrak Valley are believed to still carry the dormant disease. Those in the Ibelgrak Valley come to falsely believe the source of the disease is the Ahtahqugotak Sea, and they come to avoid it, fearing another outbreak. »

  • Deadly disease brought to Great Glacier by Treasure Hunters from Sossal. Hundreds of Ulutians and caribou succumb to the sickness. »

  • The kingdom of Sossal is rocked by a series of earthquakes. The tremors create fissures in parts of the Great Glacier, unleashing several powerful demons trapped there since the fall of Narfell. Led by their ruler Londraeth, the warriors of Sossal manage to vanquish the rampaging fiends. »

  • 1319 DR [Year of the Fallen Throne]
  • The rule of kings in distant Sossal ends in bloodshed with the death of its last monarch, Thelessar, at the hands of his twin sons Norlith and Baldraeth. They are banished from Sossal by the land's spiritual leader, the Great Druid Ulthorkh, and rulership of the realm passes to the Circle of the Frozen Sun, the druid conclave led by him. »

  • Dabron Sashenstar of Baldur's Gate charts a passage through the Novularond Peaks to Sossal. He also discovers the tower of the long-dead mage Caddelyn. Inside they discover the spellbook Caddelyn's Workbook. They examine it but do not take it. On their return trip, they stop by the tower once more, but discover that the spellbook is missing. »

  • Demetrios Whitefire of Sossal, High Chillbringer of Auril, pens the Icedawn Syllabus. »
