  • Balagos "The Flying Flame", male great wyrm red dragon (who has two lairs, the Smokespire, the most westerly peak of the arm of the Troll Mountains that shelters the upland forests of Amn north of Eshpurta, and the Wyrmwell, in Mount Thargil, easternmost of the Starspire Mountains), flies east to the Lake of Steam, where he unleashes a firestorm in the warring cities of Saelmur and Mintarn that leaves a new detente, with neither city able to muster the troop strength to mount a credible attack on the other. »

  • Felgolos "The Flying Misfortune" (male juvenile bronze dragon) (who has numerous sleeping spots in high mountain peaks stretching from the Troll Mountains to the Thunder Peaks, but no true lair), wanders east to join in the crusade against the Cult of the Dragon and its draconic allies. Through a combination of luck and spells. »

  • 1374 DR [Year of Lightning Storms]
  • Tarsakh 16 Daelegoth's research leads him to conclude that the Shard of the Sun, a holy relic of Amaunator, lies within Hulrundrar's horde. Daelegoth leads a bold assault on the Smokespire, (the westernmost peak of that arm of the Troll Mountains that shelter the upland forest of Amn north of Eshpurta). The Smokespire is one of the lairs of Balagos "the Flying Flame", who captured it in turn from the old red dragon Hulrundrar. Although Balagos is not present during the raid, Daelegoth and his followers defeat the Flying Flame's defenses and servitor dragons left behind to guard the Smokespire and recovers the Shard of the Sun. »
